The Birthplace

By Renae Forbes  11-11-06

Transition is eminent
The pushing ready to start
Birthing forth the promise
That has been held in our heart.

The way is narrow
And the squeezing is so tight
Seems like the journey is never ending
Where is the light?

Push and breathe, come on count to ten
More progress is needed - do it again.
Prayer and dedication to give birth
The promise that is within us of great worth.

The plan of God is waiting
Our destiny lies before us
But delivery isn’t easy
The enemy wants to thwart us.

But keep pushing and praying
Refused to be blinded –
For weeping endures for a moment
Let us be reminded.

When the cries of the promise
Soon reach our ear
We know the Father will protect us
And keep us from fear.

So don’t give up on the promise –
Transition will not last
The birthing of the dream He’s given
Will soon come to pass.

Consume Me
by Renae

It began as a flicker, the smallest of flames,
Glowing from the embers of my heart.
You held your hand around it,
Keeping it safe from the start
Knowing that it would soon become a blaze.

chorus
Consume me, Oh Lord, cause me to burn with holy fire,
Cleanse me from all my wicked ways.
Consume me, Oh Lord, I want to burn brighter
And be a shining light for all of my days.
Consume Me.

With your breath of life, you began to fan the flame.
Breathing your love and your grace.
Soon the embers grew, and then the hunger came,
Now I am on fire and I am seeking your face!

Burn brightly in me, I don’t ever want to be
A flame that was known from long ago.
I want to shine so all the world can see,
And know that your power will never grow old!
Consume me my Father and King!
For you I will sing! Consume me!!
