"Don't Worry!"

As a women, wife and mother I am quiet prone as so many of us are to worrying.  I worry about my husband, his work, health, well being.  I worry about my children, their schools, friends, nutrition and spiritual growth.  I worry about my own job, finances, my appearance, friends, time...the list can be endless.

But as a maturing Christian and healing survivor I have come to realize that  not only does my worry not accomplish anything good it actually robs me of the ability to trust in God.

The Word says again and again fear not, trust in the Lord, and even asks us what we add to anything by our worry.  Jesus tells us that God loves us.  He knows what we need better than we do ourselves and in our worry we forget to trust that He does have things under control.

Proverbs 3:5-6  Trust in the Lord with all of your heart Lean not on your own understanding in all of your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.

Father, Help me to trust in you.  Help me to take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ.  Remind me that the opposite of worry is trust help me to surrender my illusion of control and needless worry at your feet and know that you provide all things.
